Zanzibar, Tanzania – Get ready to turn up the heat this July as Culture Beach Jam (CBJ) lands on the white sands of Kendwa Rocks Hotel, marking its first edition outside of Ghana. Known for curating unforgettable experiences, Culture Beach Jam blends beach bliss, music, creativity, and cultural pride into a 3-day festival like no other, and now, it’s bringing the magic to Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Founded by Culture Management Group, the team behind AfroFuture, Culture Beach Jam is a celebration of Africa’s vibrant culture, sound, and soul. Having already taken Accra by storm, this landmark expansion to East Africa is a cultural movement that cannot be ignored.

The lineup includes international headliners like chart-topping Nigerian Afrobeats artist BNXN. From South Africa, Musa Keys brings his signature amapiano sound that has earned him platinum records and a growing international following. Representing Tanzania is Jaivah, one of the country’s most exciting talents whose unique blend of bongo flava, amapiano, house, and soul is gaining momentum across the region and beyond.
Complementing the headline acts is a lineup of DJs from Tanzania and other African countries from across East and Southern Africa, offering a rich mix of genres. Festival goers can look forward to beach games and cultural experiences during the day, followed by powerful performances and vibrant music into the night.

One of the most impactful events on the Culture Beach Jam calendar will be the Black Ambition Prize competition for entrepreneurs, Powered by AfroFuture’s Culture Beach Jam and Fearless Fund, taking place on July 4 under the theme: “Uninterrupted Ambition, Elevating & Funding Bold Ideas in Africa.”
In partnership with Pharrell Williams’ Black Ambition, the pitch event will spotlight 8 visionary entrepreneurs from across Tanzania who are building bold, scalable businesses in fields ranging from tech to media to consumer goods. Finalists will compete for a share of $10,000 in funding, and the top 50 applicants will be welcomed for a private networking reception. Applications are live and the deadline for submissions is June 23 2025.

On July 5, Culture Beach Jam partners with Strictly Soul, the largest R&B event brand in Africa, to bring their signature vibe to Zanzibar. Born as a livestream during lockdown and now a continent-wide phenomenon, Strictly Soul offers an inclusive space for lovers of R&B, Soul and good energy.
“Since its inception, Strictly Soul has always been about reviving and celebrating R&B while building community across the continent,” said Akio Kawahito, Founder of Strictly Soul. “Hosting our event at Culture Beach Jam allows us to continue this mission while for the first time, creating a destination for our various communities to come together and meet.”
Culture Beach Jam is also proud to partner with Waazuri, a women-run PR and digital media hub based in Tanzania, for the local rollout of the event.
